Roll up your sleeves and get wet! Join us for monthly papermaking classes.

In August we will be making paper from your old linens and blue jeans (100% cotton) and then hosting an Indigo Party!

Paper can be made from just about any organic material. Here, a uniform is pulped to make paper.

Linen and Blue Jeans

  • Mon Aug 5, 9am – 1pm
  • 1-day session (includes $15 material fee): $65
  • Make paper out of old linen and blue jeans (must be 100% cotton)! Must prep material ahead of time, by cutting into 1 inch squares (without seams and zippers) and deliver to MHC on 7/29/19.

Limited to 6 participants. Minimum of 4 necessary to run the course.

Indigo Party!
  • Tues Aug 13, 9am-1pm
  • 1-day session: $20
  • Open to all paper makers who have sheets of handmade paper they would like to dye. Bring up to 10 sheets of paper, no clothing, please. Please tie sheets in advance.
  • Must bring long thick rubber gloves as indigo is a permanent dye.
