In this talk, Ms. Fujikane will focus on the moʻolelo of Keaomelemele and its relevance for our understanding of climate change events happening today. In the migration of the awe-inspiring moʻo reptilian water deities from their home islands in the clouds to Waialua on Oʻahu, the procession spanned from Waialua to Kapūkakī, today known as Red Hill, signaling the arrival of the water protectors.
