Jumpstart the new year by learning to make paper! Join us for an introduction to papermaking in January. Open to beginners (no experience necessary) as well as advanced paper makers. Paper Club classes in 2020 will focus on book making, stitching, sculpture and making paper from native plants.

Paper Club: Hand Stitching
- Sat Mar 7, 9am-12:30 pm (9-11am paper making; 11am-12:30pm stitching using free motion drawing with thread)
- 1 session: $45 (includes $15 material fee)
- Get your stitch on! After a two-hour paper making session, use instructor provided paper to try your hand at stitching using a sewing machine (provided) for free motion stitching, regular stitching, and drawing with thread by hand.
- For intermediate papermakers and above. Must complete one introductory class to join MHC Paper Club. Participants will be responsible for helping to set-up and clean-up.
- Paper needs to dry overnight. Participants need to come to pick up paper on Monday, March 9 between 9-3 pm.
- Limited to 6 participants. Minimum of 4 necessary to run the open studio.

Paper Club: Making Paper from the Mānoa Heritage Center Garden
- Sat Mar 28, 9am-1pm — THIS WORKSHOP IS SOLD OUT!
- 1 session: $45 (includes $15 material fee)
- Transform native plants from the Mānoa Heritage Center garden into paper! Enjoy a quick walk through the garden to learn about some of the traditional uses of native plants. Then, turn a useful resource into paper.
- No previous papermaking experience necessary. Open to beginner and advanced paper makers.
- Paper needs to dry overnight. Participants need to pick up paper on Monday, March 30 between 9-3 pm.
